Dharmakirti Buddhist Center

Dharmakirti Buddhist Center
The Center is run by volunteers who themselves are dedicated practitioners, and are part of our warm and welcoming community. In the bookshop you will find books by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, our spiritual founder, and related meditation items. The meditation room is a welcoming space for quiet contemplation.
If you wish to participate in the activities at the center, we recommend that you begin with one of our General Program (GP) classes. The Sunday morning and Monday evening classes at the Center are suitable for newcomers. There are also GP Classes offered in Fairhaven and in other branch locations. We also have regular day courses, workshops and retreats throughout the year.
We currently have two different levels of program, all based on the books of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso: the General Program, which is open to everyone, and the Foundation Program, for those who wish to study systematically.
You are also welcome to attend the chanted prayers and meditations that are held at the Center daily. See the calendar for times.
Dharmakirti Buddhist Center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT). The NKT is an International Union of Kadampa Buddhist Centers. There are currently over 1100 Centers and branches worldwide. In the Pacific Northwest, we have centers in Seattle, Olympia, Portland, and in Vancouver, Victoria, and Abbotsford, BC. From time to time we gather as a family at the Kadampa Meditation Center in Seattle for festivals, special courses, and retreats.
If you have any questions, check out our faq page, the "what to expect at a class" page and as always feel free to contact us.
