Fairhaven - Tuesday General Program
Becoming the Person You Want to Be
January 20 - February 3
Tuesday ~ 7:15 - 8:45 pm
We all have a vision of who we could be, but often find ourselves resisting change. By listening to Buddha’s profound and practical teachings, we can find the energy and inspiration to start moving in a new direction. We’ll find it easier to develop a confident, powerful and joyful mind so that we can let go of our old habits and realize our full potential. Recommended reading: Introduction to Buddhism
Overcoming Craving
February 10 - 24
Tuesday ~ 7:15 - 8:45 pm
We generally crave external conditions such as food, friends, cars, and money, believing them to be real causes of happiness, and as a result we devote nearly all our time and energy to acquiring these. Superficially it seems that these things can make us happy, but if we look more deeply we will see that they also bring us a lot of suffering and problems. By thinking deeply about this we can overcome our strong attachment, and in its place experience a deep inner peace and contentment. Recommended reading: Transform Your Life.
