Public Service
Dharmakirti Buddhist Center practitioners exemplify the Kadampa way of life through public service. In addition to our regularly scheduled classes and events, teachers have made special visits to the Parkway Chateau Retirement Community and Bridges Treatment and Recovery.
We also offer school visits for local education groups. If you are teaching a class and would like to bring them in to see the center, or for a short talk on the Buddhist faith, please contact the Education Program Coordinator: epc@meditateinnwwashington.org
Dharmakirti Center practitioners have given books on Buddhism to local prisoners at the Whatcom County Jail who have requested them. We are also a co-sponsor of the Multi-Faith Alternative Holiday Gift Market in Bellingham.
Practicioners have worked with St. Joseph's Hospital and the Skagit Valley Hospital's Chaplaincy Department, as well, to provide spiritual support for patients who request it.
