Study Programs
Classes for all levels of interest

At Dharmakirti Buddhist Center, our classes are divided into two different levels of study: the General Program and the Foundation Program.
General Program: Introductory Classes on Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology, and Meditation
The General Program aims to introduce basic Buddhist view, meditation, and way of life to the general public. These classes include guided meditations, meditation instruction, and advice for developing inner and outer peace.
Foundation Program: In-Depth Study of the Buddhist Path
The Foundation Program is designed for those who wish to study the Buddhist spiritual path in a structured, systematic way. The Foundation Program focuses on five specific areas of study: the stages of the path to enlightenment meditations (based on the commentary Joyful Path of Good Fortune), Training the Mind (based on the commentaries Eight Steps to Happiness and Universal Compassion), the Heart Sutra (based on the commentary Heart of Wisdom), Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (based on the commentary Meaningful to Behold), and types of mind (based on the commentary Understanding the Mind).
To see if Foundation Program is right for you, e-mail us or speak to our Resident Teacher or Education Program Coordinator.
Teacher Training Program: For Future Teachers
The purpose of the Teacher Training Program is to provide a more extensive presentation of particular subjects of Mahayana Buddhism, to enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Buddhism, and to train as qualified New Kadampa Tradition Teachers. This program is currently not available at DBC. We are hopeful to offer it in the future.
